Not every nationality needs a Brazil eVisa. Brazil maintains different entry arrangements with different countries – some require the eVisa, some are visa-free, and some still require a traditional consular visa. This page provides the complete breakdown for 2026.
Countries Requiring the Brazil eVisa in 2026
As of April 10, 2025, the following nationalities must obtain a Brazil eVisa before traveling:
- United States – eVisa required; validity 10 years; fee $80.90 USD
- Canada – eVisa required; validity 5 years; fee $80.90 USD
- Australia – eVisa required; validity 5 years; fee $80.90 USD
Additional nationalities from Asia, Africa, and other regions also require either an eVisa or a traditional consular visa depending on bilateral agreements with Brazil.

Visa-Free Countries (No eVisa Required)
Citizens of the following groups can enter Brazil without any visa for stays up to 90 days:
European Union Member States
All 27 EU member states have visa-free access: Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Portugal, Netherlands, Belgium, Austria, Poland, Czech Republic, Sweden, Finland, Ireland, Greece, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Croatia, and all other EU members.
United Kingdom
UK citizens can enter Brazil visa-free for up to 90 days. Brexit did not affect this arrangement. See our Brazil eVisa for UK Citizens page.
Other Visa-Free Countries
Visa-free entry also applies to citizens of most Latin American countries (Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Peru, Mexico, Uruguay), as well as Japan, South Korea, Israel, and South Africa.
Countries Still Requiring a Traditional Consular Visa
Some nationalities cannot use the eVisa system and must apply at a Brazilian embassy or consulate. This generally applies to nationals of countries without a formal eVisa agreement with Brazil, including parts of Africa, the Middle East, South Asia, and China.
How the Eligible Countries List Is Determined
Brazil grants eVisa access based on bilateral diplomatic agreements and reciprocity principles. The 2025 rollout to US, Canadian, and Australian citizens was partly in response to those countries’ own electronic authorization systems (US ESTA, Canada eTA, Australia ETA).
